Tana Mongeau Spills on Unsettling ‘Escape the Night’ Moments

Tana Mongeau recently opened up about some seriously uncomfortable and unsettling experiences while filming Escape the Night with Joey Graceffa. But it’s not just about the creepy on-set moments—it’s also about how Joey responded to her concerns afterward. Let’s break it all down, from eerie encounters to Trisha Paytas’ fiery reaction.

The Masked Actor Incident: Unsettling Vibes on Set

From the jump, things felt off. While filming in downtown LA, Tana found herself alone with a masked actor during a break, and what happened next was beyond unsettling.

The actor made a chilling comment that immediately set off alarms:

“Perfect, I’ve always wanted to have you chained up.”

Uh, what?! Tana was stunned. Before she could even process it, the actor seemed to realize his mistake, quickly adding:

“Oh, I probably shouldn’t have said that.”

Too late. The damage was done. The fact that she couldn’t even see his face made it all even more disturbing. Tana wasted no time telling people about the interaction, and thankfully, the production team did take it seriously.

But this was more than just an “oops” moment—it was a glaring safety issue.

The Pinky Injury: Another Red Flag

As if the creepy masked actor moment wasn’t enough, things took another physical turn later on.

During a chaotic scene, the same actor grabbed Tana’s co-star, but in the process, Tana’s pinky got caught in the action.

At first, she brushed it off, thinking it was just her nail. But the pain kept escalating—fast.

“It went from zero to a ten out of ten real quick.”

Turns out, her pinky was potentially way more injured than she realized. And instead of getting the concern she deserved, she found herself having to coddle the same actor who hurt her.

That was the breaking point. This wasn’t just about a freak accident—it was a serious safety problem that should have been handled way differently.

Trisha Paytas said “I’m Out”

It didn’t take long for Trisha Paytas to chime in—and let’s just say she did not hold back.

On her podcast, Trisha made it crystal clear:

“If that’s what’s happening on set, then no thanks—I’m good.”

She had zero interest in Escape the Night after hearing what went down. And honestly, can you blame her?

Trisha also speculated that budget cuts could have played a role in the lack of safety precautions. Tana, however, shut that down real quick.

“No, the budget was there. The safety? Not so much.”

One of the biggest issues? The actors seemed to have way too much freedom when it came to physical interactions with the cast. Instead of a controlled, professional set, it started to feel more like a haunted house gone wrong.

Trisha’s Reaction: “No Thanks, I’m Good”

Trisha’s response also brings in a little bit of extra drama from the past. For anyone who’s been following Trisha and Joey’s history, you know that Trisha wasn’t exactly thrilled when she wasn’t invited to Escape the Night and Gabbie Hanna was brought in instead. But now, Trisha’s decision to distance herself from the show feels even more validated, given what happened on set.

Trisha’s reaction to Tana’s experience was raw and honest—there was no sugarcoating it. She’s out if this is what Escape the Night is all about.

Joey Graceffa’s Response: Dismissing Tana’s Concerns?

Just when you thought this couldn’t get more messy—Joey Graceffa responded.

Instead of acknowledging Tana’s concerns, Joey’s reaction left a lot of people raising their eyebrows. On Trisha’s podcast, he made a comment that did not sit well with Tana:

“Let Tana complain—it brings publicity to the show.”

Excuse me?

Tana was shocked. Someone she once looked up to was completely brushing off her discomfort. Instead of showing even a hint of support, Joey reduced her experience to a mere publicity stunt.

Naturally, Tana wasn’t having it. She took to her podcast, Canceled, to call him out:

“I never expected that from Joey. This wasn’t about clout—this was about my safety.”

The Aftermath: Is Joey’s Reputation on the Line?

Joey’s dismissive comment didn’t just rub Tana the wrong way—it set off major backlash online.

Fans are now questioning whether this is just another case of a creator brushing off real concerns, or if there’s more going on behind the scenes.

Will Joey respond? Apologize? Or has his relationship with Tana just taken a hit that can’t be repaired?

What’s Next for Escape the Night?

As of now, it’s unclear how this drama will shake out. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if Joey will respond to Tana’s podcast and whether he’ll apologize for his earlier comments. But with all the tension and discomfort that’s come to light, it’s safe to say Escape the Night might be facing some serious scrutiny moving forward.

For Trisha, it seems like Escape the Night is officially off her radar. After hearing Tana’s horror story, she’s made it clear that she has no interest in being involved with the show, even if the budget’s there.

Ultimately, this situation has put a spotlight on some of the darker sides of reality TV production—the moments when the “showbiz” elements cross over into something a little more concerning. As the drama unfolds, it’ll be interesting to see if any changes are made to how these productions are run.

Stay tuned for updates, because this one isn’t over yet.

Joey Graceffa Responds: “I Was Just Being Playful”

Joey Graceffa addressed the drama after Tana Mongeau’s comments went public. In a text message shared by Oscar on Just Trish, Joey said:

“I sent Tana a text, I don’t see why she can’t handle things offline. I apologized to her for how I talked about it on the pod, though I was just being playful. I think Tana has been hurt by a lot of people and put me in the same boat as those with bad intentions. But I genuinely feel bad and was shocked by her reaction. I instantly texted her, and we also handled it on set too.”

In his response, Joey acknowledged the apology but emphasized his belief that Tana’s reaction was partly influenced by her past experiences – I find this in itself undermining and discrediting in its own form.

He also mentioned addressing the situation privately, both through text and in person on set, suggesting that he hoped to clear the air behind the scenes.

So, What do you guys think? Was Joey really just being playful or is he just back tracking due to the support Tana is gaining from speaking out on her experience behind the scenes?

This one still probably isn’t over so don’t go anywhere!
